Dr. Hanks joined Kitsap Podiatry in 2023. He specializes in non-surgical and surgical management of foot and ankle pathology. He has hospital privileges at St. Michaels Medical Center as well as neighboring surgical facilities.
Dr. Hanks grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area as the youngest of four children. He enjoyed playing water polo, basketball, and swimming, and hiked the two highest peaks in California before graduating high school, Mt. Shasta and Whitney.
At Brigham Young University, he studied Civil Engineering but grew a desire to work with the foundation of the body rather than buildings. Dr. Hanks moved back home with his family to attend the California School of Podiatric Medicine near San Francisco and received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine before completing an intense three-year surgical residency with the added credential of reconstructive rear foot/ankle surgery at the VA Puget Sound. There he learned from and worked with some of the best foot and ankle surgeons in Washington. Dr. Hanks is board-qualified in foot surgery with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Due to the nature of his residency, he worked with a wide variety of patient populations, and believes in a personalized approach to the treatment of all foot and ankle conditions, considering patient needs, goals, and lifestyle.
Dr. Hanks and his wife have four daughters, and after moving to the Olympic peninsula, finally feel as if they have found their home. They love being on the water, gardening, and spending time together.
After all of the training, he still finds the best part of each day is learning about his patients and helping them get back on their feet.
